Pantone’s color of the year for 2024 left me so uninspired that I didn’t even blog about it, Gentle Readers. That’s sayin’ somethin’.

There were a few people who, upon learning of my apathy, asked, “But isn’t that the color of your living room?”

“Um, NO, thank you very much,” I would answer. “My living room is BLUSH. It’s a PINK. A very LIGHT pink. It’s not peachy at all.”
Thus educated, the questioner would acquiesce, usually with a muttered apology.
Anyway, the general consensus among interior design authorities is that earth tones in general will be popular in 2024. House Beautiful wrote about it, and Architectural Digest did a little round-up of paint manufacturers’ colors of the year for 2024 that includes some moody hues.

The color that keeps popping up, I’m delighted to say, is GREEN.
It’s no secret that I love green. I went so far as to declare green as *my* color of the year for 2021.
But green can be tricky in decorating. Not everyone likes it — over the years, I’ve even had a few clients forbid me from proposing it at all! But maybe one of these greens will change their minds.
If you’re thinking about redecorating, here are 5 great green paint colors to consider.
I painted my bedroom walls and trim in Green Ground, and I love it. It’s so soothing, and such a nice alternative to the light blue that many favor for bedrooms.

it’s olive, yet clear. How did they do that? It’s so rich and warm…you can’t say that about all greens.

Little Greene – Aquamarine Pale
Where have YOU been all my life, Little Greene?! A friend just introduced me to you, and boy am I glad she did! This color is ethereal and gauzy…I’m going to argue that it’s neutral enough to use in a living room. Can you imagine?! Gorgeous!

If you don’t like the yellowish aspect of green, maybe Salamander will appeal to you. It’s a deep, dusty blue-green. Not quite teal. I paired this with a very light aqua for a boy’s bedroom once, and it was très sophisticated. And I remember a wonderful dinner in a tiny dining room that was painted in this color…it was magical.

I am DYING to use this color!!! It’s a dark mint green, and so intense it’s almost menacing. But it’s also funny, in a way — like an in-joke. Right? Calling all clients: who’s up for Arsenic?!

So many greens. I’m certain we can find the right one for you ;)
