The love affair started before the party at Timothy Paul Bedding + Home last week (My Notting Hill gave it a mention on Monday…)

The party was given by Sferra – and it was tons of fun – but Timothy Paul has always been my go-to bedding store for John Robshaw. So it’s understandable that I would be thinking of Mr. Robshaw even as I cavorted among someone else’s sheets.
Oooh – racy!
John Robshaw is scheduled to play a starring role in a client’s master bedroom re-do. We’re going to play up the masculine.
The room is a – how shall we say? – challenging shape.

So we’re going to do the walls and drapes in the same color to blur those odd angles.
We’re starting with John Robshaw’s Persian bedding: sheets, Euros, and shams. (Wanted to go beyond the collection for accent pillows – TBD later.)

We’ll pair it with Madeline Weinrib’s Platinum Westley rug, which is a beautiful warm grey, not cool.

And then we’ll add dark blue drapes and dark blue walls…the bedding will really pop against the dark, don’t you think?

The cream fabric is for the headboard and bedskirt.
We’d love to do a lacquer effect on the walls, but the TRUE lacquering process is time-consuming, messy, and expensive. We’re researching shortcuts now – suggestions, anyone?
Please stay tuned! (I thought it was funny that both the client’s AND my feet made it into the last picture. One of us needs a pedicure. And it’s not the client.)
