Well, well, well. A new attitude for a new year: I, bossy color the open-minded, am heartily endorsing a piece of Pottery Barn furniture.
You know that my relationship with Pottery Barn has been a tortured one, reaching its nadir with the arrival of a certain “Thanksgiving” Pottery Barn catalog. I shudder just thinking about that.
But to be fair, I have found myself using Pottery Barn’s Julia Bedside Table quite often recently, and to great effect.

It’s the perfect size. At 28″H with a 20″ diameter, it fits into even modestly scaled bedrooms.

It’s versatile. The comments on Pottery Barn’s website reveal that many purchasers are using it as an end table. Most recently, I put one in a client’s nursery, next to the reading chair. (Do you remember that room? It’s coming together!)

It holds stuff. And so many airy bedside tables do not. Note the little drawer and shelf underneath.
It’s well priced. At $199, it’s pretty affordable.

These pictures seem to indicate that I only like the white Julia bedside table. Not true; the opportunities to use the brown and black simply haven’t presented themselves as often.
I hope this is helpful, Gentle Readers! No more balancing your books, clock, lamp, and box of Kleenex on a too-low, too-small bedside table, ok? You deserve better.
