In the first installment, we discovered that light wood and natural materials are strong interior design trends right now. Here are a few more:
Trend #3: Curved furniture
People are “floating” furniture in rooms often these days, so there’s a trend towards sofas and chairs with curved backs. Curved chairs especially have been around forever; there are just more of them now. And most are swivels!
I love a curved chair, but a super curved sofa, like the one from Crate & Barrel below…you really need the right situation. Anyway, take a look:

Trend #4: Bouclé
It is EVERYWHERE! This is a real holdover; we’ve been seeing bouclé upholstery for several years, but now you can’t escape it! It’s a woolly, cozy, textured material…the original was wool, but now it’s made of natural and/or man-made figers.
Every piece above is upholstered in bouclé except one. Literally: cannot escape. Luckily, I like it. (I’d like to see it in more colors besides natural and gray, of course. Maybe that’s next year’s trend?)

There is SO much more about this year’s trip to High Point on my TikTok account! Seriously, Gentle Readers; it might be worth downloading the app.
