Jack White, I definitely love you now.

You were an upholsterer?
Whose business cards read, “Your furniture’s not dead” ????
Wall Street Journal, every time I think of canceling my subscription, you slip in an article like this one, and I’m hooked in for another year. Damn you.
I mean, how many legitimate news sources would recognize, “Mr. White’s trademark palette of red, white, yellow and black.” (Maybe I need a trademark palette. Hmmm.)
Those colors are carried through the Nashville HQ of White’s Third Man Records, which includes offices, a recording studio, rehearsal space, photo studio, and naturally, a “boutique record shop.”

I love the yellow wall, of course, but especially with the shiny repro tin ceiling, the Persian rug, and high-tech equipment. It’s not overly designed, and all the more cool for that.
Moral of the story: don’t fear color, hip people. It won’t kill you, and it might even make you stronger.

The top picture of Jack White from a blog called Rumors in Music. The second pic, the interior shot, is from the WSJ article, and the bottom is from Blog.WBRU. Gentle Readers, if you’re not familiar with Mr. White’s music through one of his three bands – the White Stripes, Raconteurs, and Dead Weather – I suggest you give a listen to his heartbreaking interpretation of Dolly Parton’s Jolene. I can’t seem to get the sound recording legally, but here it is on Youtube.
