It isn’t bossy color’s usual way, dedicating an entire post to a specific product, but I’ve seen this rug so often lately that I felt compelled to spread the news. (As you know, I’ve had rugs on the brain recently…

…and, as you also may know, we’re into our 39th inch of snow here in D.C., and there’s only so much work you can get done with your children roughousing in the background.)
May I introduce the Soho Dhurrie Rug, available in at least 6 colors that I’ve seen. This latest sighting was in a Shades of Light catalog. (From which I have not yet ordered, so this isn’t an endorsement, but I’d be willing to give them a try.)

Wool flatweave rugs are great in general. Cotton flatweaves, too (you all know I’m a fan of Madeleine Weinrib‘s – I recommended them a bunch of them here), but wool is just a little more formal. Heavier, more durable. Arguably better for a living or dining room than cotton.
West Elm used to have quite a few wool flatweaves, but their selection seems more limited these days…

Anyway, Gentle Readers, I thought you should know.

Because I personally am stuck in living room rug hell, naturally I assume all of you are, too. (More on that soon.)
Added 2/14/10: Was just alerted to the fact that Garnet Hill sells this rug as the Bogart. Interesting where it’s popping up.
