My dear friend Peter Benson Miller just told me about this photographer he’s been working with named Jehsong Baak. I think his work is astonishing. He works in black and white FILM (remember film?) and does not, I repeat, does not manipulate his images in any way. Truly.

I kept asking, “But THIS one? How can this one be…” And Peter (infinite patience, Peter has) would explain and point out to me how the pictures were possible.
Because Baak is still considered an “emerging” talent – despite several shows at important galleries – his prices are within reach for “emerging” collectors (they start at about 2k). You can contact Peter directly if you’re interested.
Let’s hear it for grad school reunions so I can get more tidbits like this (even though this particular get-together is in tropical Minneapolis…brrrrrr….)
