Last night I dreamed that my Design House rug clashed with the wall-to-wall carpet beneath it. It was more of a nightmare, really. I know there could be worse things, but at the moment nothing springs to mind…
The sleepless night is unwarranted, though: things are going great, knock wood. Got the excellent news that Baker is, in fact, coming through with that beautiful table for the entry. Woo hoo! (Love those super straight legs. Very dignified.)
Now looking for the perfect lamp to put on top of it – sophisticated yet homey. (Elegant, yet urban.) Here are some options I saw today. Opinions welcome.
These look like Brancusi to me. He’s one of my favorite artists – lots of stuff at the Phila. Museum of Art, which I love:
This could be too similar to the table AND to the fabric behind it. Not sure yet:
I thought this would be the winner, but it might be too squat. With the right piece of art it could work:
I also found a terrific open bookshelf today at Robert Allen – which is providing a lot of furniture for the foyer portion. The longer you look in these showrooms, the more stuff you find. Funnily enough, this has been used in the Design House before, possibly in a bathroom. Hey, if it works, it works.
Tragically, I don’t have a place to use that shaggy pillow. I don’t know whether to lean on it or take it to the vet.
