I was going through the “best of bossy’s colors” list recently (I’m trying something new with the bossy basic service; I can fill you in on that later).
You remember these, don’t you? Wedgewood Gray, Shaker Beige, Ivory Tusk, Edgecomb Gray, Whispering Spring, Windham Cream… all by Benjamin Moore, as it happens.
I think you’re ready for the big leagues, Gentle Readers. The strong colors. The bold colors. The high risk, high reward colors.
I know, I know…you’re probably thinking, “Brown? You call that bold?”
Well, yes, actually. I do. When it’s used on all 4 walls to great effect, I do call it bold.

What I like is that it’s a dry brown. It’s unapologetically dark, and there’s no orange in it – it’s not a ’70s brown. No dog poop tendencies, to be crass. (But come on: isn’t that our big fear? That the brown we use will look like dog poop? Well, not Clinton Brown, I assure you.)
I used Clinton Brown in a client’s entry hall not too long ago, and I have to say it looks stunning. I really should get a picture, now that I think about it… It’s especially striking with white or cream furniture, and as a backdrop for light-colored art.
Give it some thought. I think you’re ready.

The bedroom and living room pictures were once again graciously provided by xJavierx via his Flickr photostream.
