One of the reasons I started this blog is that certain paint colors were delighting my clients again and again, and I wanted to spread the word.
Now, it’s pretty irresponsible of any self-respecting decorator to say, “This color is foolproof,” especially if he/she hasn’t seen your house in person, hasn’t seen your stuff, hasn’t met you and isn’t familiar with your style.
But self-respect is overrated. Use your good judgment, of course, but if you’re really stuck, know that I’ve used these colors in several settings with great results.
Today’s color is…Benjamin Moore‘s HC-6 Windham Cream.

It’s a lovely color: strong enough to be yellow, subtle enough to be cream. It changes with the light, of course, but never for the bad. I’ve used this in at least two living rooms (possibly 3, but I’d have to do some digging – here’s a picture of one of them), a foyer/stairwell, and a baby’s room.
When you consider how many zillions of paint colors there are out there – not to mention paint manufacturers – any color that proves its versatility is worth mentioning.
