It’s almost here, Gentle Readers! ASPIRE House McLean will open this coming weekend, on August 22. Here’s the link to buy tickets and reserve your time slot.
You can catch glimpses of some rooms via the #aspirehousemclean Instagram hashtag, but believe me, you’ve got to visit in person. I was there on Friday for our photo shoot with Stacy Zarin Goldberg, and the rooms are gorgeous — very avant-garde!

It occurs to me that I never told you about our avian theme, did I?
Well, the first artwork Amy and I knew we wanted to use in this room was by Claire Rosen. We love antiques and vintage furniture, but we wanted to balance that with some contemporary art. Amy knew Claire’s work, and it looks fantastic in the space. No time capsule here.

Then, given that this guest bedroom has an English garden vibe, both Amy and I had been picturing a series of nature-themed engravings somewhere. We fell in love with this set and thought, you know, I think we have a bird thing happening.

So we sprinkled in a few more birds, which you’ll see when you visit ;)

Holy cow – I ALSO keep forgetting to mention that everything — I mean EVERYTHING — in this room is for sale. If you were thinking of re-doing a bedroom in time for Thanksgiving (Halloween, actually), now’s your chance! (A complete bedroom, installed immediately AND with no design fees? How could you say no!?)
I look forward to seeing you sometime between August 22 and September 13. Can’t wait!
