…Janet! In response to our request for child-, pet-, and slob-proof solutions, she offered this:
I found a faux shearling fabric (shearling fleece texure on one side and faux suede on the other) that matched my sofa color. Cut to size to cover the sofa seat and back and finished the edges. The dogs love the shearling side and the suede side grips the sofa and does not move. It looks good when we are there and I pull it off when company comes. No more dog hair covered furniture, and who doesn’t let their dog on the sofa!
Great, stylish suggestion, Janet! I love that the shearling is the SAME COLOR as the sofa. That’s what really got me. (BEmama, you agreed w/ her, but because Janet was first, I think she gets the book. Sound fair?)
Other suggestions included:
-FLOR tiles (several people voted for those)
– Painted canvas floor mats instead of rugs in eating areas
– NO rugs in eating areas
– Dark colors in general – unless light-colored pets are involved
– Disallowing red wine (that seems cruel and unusual, but I’m sure it would work)
– A plastic shower curtain desperately cast over the sofa when the cat decides to escalate its naughty behavior vis-a-vis other animals in the house…oh, wait. That suggestion was mine. And oh so glamorous it was, too.
Janet, please e-mail me your address privately (annie [at] bossycolor.com) so we can send you the book.
