One of bossy color ‘s favorite clients happens to be named Glynnie.
As you can see, Glynnie is a dog. So technically, she belongs to our clients.
But in creating a decorating plan for their living room, it’s actually Glynnie who’s calling the shots.
We want the sofa upholstery to hold up to the occasional snuggle. The rug should withstand muddy paws, and it would be ideal if the arm of one of the new chairs could serve as a perch from which Glynnie can gaze out the window.
(Let me add here that Glynnie is HIGHLY trained, doesn’t smell, has lovely manners…in short, she’s practically not a dog at all. Except that she is.)
So bossy color is pulling swatches of the latest bulletproof fabrics – Robert Allen and Duralee have some terrific ones…
…and we’re searching for indoor/outdoor rugs that look more “indoor” than “outdoor.”
But what else?
It’s probably high time we read Debbie Wiener’s book, Slobproof and see what other strategies we can employ. Because Glynnie isn’t the only client demanding more forgiving surroundings these days. Why, bossy color’s very own sofa is upholstered in Robert Allen’s Showtime, which although not technically spill-proof, is actually pretty tough.
