Visible progress. I think that grey trim in the foyer is going to be beautiful w/ the yellow “silk” walls after all. I had a panic attack about it recently, but now that the paint is on, I’m feeling much better.
This is as you enter the foyer. All of the paint is from Farrow & Ball. I am such a sucker for their Oil Full-Gloss paint…I used it on our LR fireplace surround and mantel at home, and I touch it every time I walk by.
The trim in the Design House foyer is Down Pipe, and the ceiling is Pigeon. The white on the walls is a double layer of Dacron padding; we’ll put the fabric up on Monday.
The yellow paint is Babouche, and it’s just meant to match the wall fabric. This was a tough room anyway, with a doorway in every single wall, but this fire door wall was particularly challenging. We’ll hang a drape in the wall material over the fire door, but we won’t be able to upholster on the left because of the breaker box. (I’m telling you, it’s the little things that kill you!)
And this is the faux elevator in the “entry,” lovingly constructed by my contractor, Dave Mitchell. (Whose high school math tutor, I learned recently, was my mother-in-law. Small town? Naah.) The trim is Off-Black and the elevator doors are Minister Green; the wall color is left over from the fall Design House, but they’ll be a dark purple soon enough.
