Capitol Hill: Updating a Victorian classic
These clients hoped to transform the formal lower-level dining room of their classic Victorian row house on Capitol Hill into a sunny, multi-purpose room. They wanted not only to have meals in this room, but also make the space more conducive to hanging out, creating spaces to read and work. Annie Elliott Design’s interior design services transformed this dark basement room into a glorious, light-filled space by selecting cheerful wallpaper, a vintage Gabbeh rug, new dining furniture, a lovely settee for the sunny bay window, and a stylish desk. A custom café curtain provides privacy but still allows plenty of light to flood the room.
The furniture and other products used In this space came from Julian Chichester (William Yeoward), Anna French, Jamie Young, Visual Comfort, and the client’s own china cabinet, silver chest, and charming vintage desk lamp.
