Kingman Park: A home designed for both entertaining and privacy
We designed this townhouse to feature the client’s growing art collection and define separate spaces for personal use and entertaining. The lower two levels are the client’s private space, with a bedroom (featuring grasscloth wallcovering on the walls), bath, tub room, library, office, living room, and kitchen. The second and third floors feature a large entertaining area (which includes a theater projector and video game), bar, gym, two guest bedrooms (one of which features Farrow & Ball wallpaper), and three baths.
In addition to creating a comprehensive design plan for this four-story townhome in the Kingman Park neighborhood of Capitol Hill, in NE Washington, DC, our interior design services included space planning and sourcing, procuring, and installing custom window treatments, custom upholstery, wallpaper, and paint. We sourced and installed vintage and to-the-trade living room furniture, dining room furniture, custom furniture, light fixtures, and rugs. We renovated a bathroom and created a retiled bar area in one of the kitchens.
Resources included Fermoie, Farrow & Ball, Schumacher, Phillip Jeffries, Scalamandré, Kravet, Visual Comfort, Jamie Young, Haller, and vintage rugs from Matt Camron.
