Washington, DC: A focus on family
Top priority in this residential interior design project in Washington, DC was ensuring that the living room was a welcoming space the entire family could use. Since the room has a fireplace in the middle of one wall, Annie Elliott Design created two zones: a game-playing space anchored by a custom-built banquette on one side, and an intimate conversation area on the other. The family room on the third floor of the home is a play space that’s comfortable for children and grown-ups alike. Durable, family-friendly fabrics and a tough-as-nails rug will stand up to the roughest play. The dining room (not pictured), features an antique dining table, contemporary green leather dining chairs from M2L, and a Missoni rug.
Interior design services for this home included designing and overseeing the production of a custom banquette; and sourcing, procuring, and installing custom window treatments, custom pillows, reuhpholstered furniture, and carpeting.
Resources for this interior design project included Jane Churchill, Stark Carpet, Schumacher, Clarence House, and China Seas.
