Cleveland Park: A historic icon
This magnificent house in the NW DC neighborhood of Cleveland Park is known as “the wedding cake house” for the ornate details on the home’s exterior. Annie Elliott Design worked with Treacy Eagleburger architects to redesign the entire house – three full floors that included a grand foyer, formal dining room, library, butler’s pantry and kitchen, powder room, living room, sunroom (more of a conservatory, or as we call it, “l’orangerie”), primary bedroom suite (formerly known as the master bedroom suite), and other bedrooms and baths. The family loves it – especially the teenagers and dog.
AED’s design services included rug selection, finding and purchasing antique furniture for the dining room and front hallway, incorporating some of the client’s existing antiques into the design plan, custom furniture, custom window treatments, tile selection for the kitchen and bathrooms, wallpaper selection, and paint colors.
Design resources for this interior design project included Visual Comfort, Currey & Co., Henredon, Schumacher, Romo, Cole & Son, and Waterworks. Annie Elliott Design also did art placement and art installation as well as styling and arranging the client’s accessories.
