Yesterday, I had a wonderful day.
I started off with an initial meeting for some core services clients. While I was there, we moved their LR furniture around and they love the new arrangement. It was very satisfying.
Then at the end of the day, I did a bossy basic in Arlington. 2+ hours of telling this very nice woman exactly what to do with her living room, using the things she already has. She was grateful. I was excited.
Then, I came home. To my own living room.
I’d made a new to-do list a few days ago, with “painting the fireplace” at the top. My brother James (aka Jimmy Riot, aka Uncle Jimmy) was coming to visit, and I wanted to be prepared.
My poor family. They think they’re coming for a nice relaxing visit with their granddaughters/nieces…
Oh well.
I decided to return the fireplace to its previous off-white state. He started taping.
Since Ruthie is out of school, she wanted to help. And Georgie got into the act when she got home. James nicked my camera to document their involvement – he wanted proof that he didn’t just dump them in front of the TV while he worked.
One coat of primer, and it will probably take 2 coats of semi-gloss on top. We’re going with Benjamin Moore’s OC-130 Cloud White for the trim. (You remember the convoluted mix I did for the walls, right?)
It should be done today. I’ll keep you posted.
And, cliffhanger: I’ll also tell you about the new coffee table.
I don’t know how you’ll be able to sleep tonight with all this excitement!
